In the 3rd game of Road Safety World Series, Sri Lanka Legends beat Australia Legends by 38 runs.
Batting first, Sri Lanka went after the Aussie seamers from the very first ball. Though the Kampur wicket, slow in nature, not batting friendly, sis not have any impact on the Lankan innings.
Opening pair of Tilakratane and Munaweera Dilshan showcased a batting extravaganza for the local fans. However, for the Australian bowlers, it is a night to forget.
Tilakratane Dilshan(107) and Munaweera (95*) together put up a partnership of 208 runs leaving Australian bowling attack wicketless for most of the innings. However, it was the last ball of 19th over , when Brett Lee sent off Tilakratane Dilshan with a slow yorker.
Australia Legends on the other hand did not waste a single minute and went all out from the first ball.
Watson(39) and Cameron White(30) did start off well but could not convert into a big innings. Although, the duo added 75 runs in 7 overs. Following the wicket of Shane Watson, Australia was soon reduced to 79 for the loss of 3 wickets.
Though Australians were well in reach of the required run rate, continuous fall of wickets kept hampering the innings. Reardon(46) of 19 deliveries, a lone warrior could only manage to take the score to 180.
Tilakratane Dilshan was awarded the Man of the Match for his innings of 107 with 14 fours and 4 sixes. Also Dilshan becomes the first player to score a century in Road Safety World Series.
