Cody Rhodes makes an AEW exit. Rumored for a WWE Return

Cody Rhodes, one of the biggest stars in professional wrestling, is leaving All Elite Wrestling, the company announced Tuesday.

AEW president Tony Khan said in a statement that Rhodes and his wife Brandi, who’s also leaving the company, were integral parts in AEW’s launch and overall success.

“I have immense respect and appreciation for Cody and Brandi, and I wish them both the best as they move on from AEW. Thank you, Cody and Brandi,” Khan said.

Rhodes wrestled in WWE from 2006-16 and is reportedly considering a return, according to reporter Ariel Halwani.

Rhodes, The Young Bucks, and Kenny Omega helped form AEW, which debuted in 2019. Since then, AEW has been contending with WWE for wrestling supremacy.

The 36-year-old son of wrestling legend Dusty Rhodes, Cody has become a success in and out of the ring. He’s a three-time AEW TNT champion and has made countless television appearances.

He also stars in a reality series with his wife titled “Rhodes to the Top.”
