The Trinbago Knight Riders have made significant signings ahead of the 2024 Caribbean Premier League (CPL) season, bringing in Australian batter Tim David and England’s Jason Roy to strengthen their squad. The franchise has also retained a core group of experienced West Indies stars, including Andre Russell, Kieron Pollard, Sunil Narine, and Nicholas Pooran.
Tim David And Jason Roy Join Trinbago Knight Riders
Tim David, who has previously played for the St Lucia Kings in the CPL, returns to the league after a stint with the Knight Riders in 2023. The Australian has been a consistent performer in T20 leagues around the world, and his addition will provide a significant boost to the Knight Riders’ batting lineup.
Jason Roy, on the other hand, is set to make his debut in the CPL. The explosive England opener was part of the Knight Riders’ sister franchise, Kolkata Knight Riders, in the Indian Premier League (IPL) earlier this year but withdrew from the tournament. His inclusion in the Trinbago Knight Riders’ squad will add firepower to their top order.
The Knight Riders have also secured the services of Ireland’s Josh Little, who will provide a left-arm seam option, and Afghanistan spinner Waqar Salamkheil. USA international Ali Khan, who has been a regular feature for the franchise, will also return for the 2024 season.
A Well Balanced Team
With the addition of these players, the Trinbago Knight Riders have a well-rounded squad that combines experience with youthful exuberance. The franchise will be looking to build on their success from the previous season, where they reached the CPL final.
The full list of retained and signed players for the Knight Riders are as follows: Kieron Pollard, Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, Nicholas Pooran, Tim David, Jason Roy, Akeal Hosein, Dwayne Bravo, Waqar Salamkheil, Jayden Seales, Josh Little, Ali Khan, Mark Deyal, Keacy Carty, and Terrence Hinds.
