Voice of WWE: Michael Cole

“And I quote”

At times, this multi-time Slammy Award winner and voice of WWE has gotten on the nerves of the WWE Universe. Like him or not, his contribution to WWE over 20 years gave him the right to be a little pompous.

Vintage Cole hosted such programs as live wire and Shotgun Saturday Night. He debuted in 1997 and became Smackdown’s lead announcer by 1999. For the next nine years, Cole provided the soundtrack for the blue brand.

In June 2008, Cole was surprisingly drafted to raw. No stranger to taking abuse from Superstars, he soon sustained an attack by Kane. While calling the action on Monday Night’s, Cole also became the commentator for WWE’s new program, NXT.

During the show’s inaugural season, he showed his unpleasant side by taunting then-WWE rookie, Daniel Bryan. On Raw, he smugly accepted the unpopular role of official spokesperson for the Anonymous Raw General Manager.

That fall, after he incurred Jerry Lawyer’s wrath, Cole shielded himself inside a protective glass booth which he called the coal mine. Michael stopped to such hateful and personal levels that millions of fans were ready to see the king pummel him at WrestleMania XXVII. Fans got their wish, but despite having his orange-clad keister whipped from pillar to post, Cole emerged with a highly questionable disqualification victory.

Cole trumpeted his spotless WrestleMania record as if he were the next undertaker but he was soon humbles add over the limit 2011.He was forced to kiss Lawler’s feet with help from eve and Jim Ross. He apologized to Jerry but his mouth would get him into trouble again. In June 2012, his diatribes earned him an AA from John Cena.

In recent years Cole has adopted a more even-keeled approach and has come to be appreciated by the WWE universe outside of announcing he has Co-hosted the JBL and Cole show on wwe.com and YouTube and conducted several tenses, revealing interviews with the WWE and You Tube and conducted several 10s revealing interviews with the WWE quote Triple H behind the scenes he coaches WWE’s younger announcers hoping to cultivate the next voice of WWE what a maneuver.
