Madison Square Garden, Mecca of Events

Madison Square Garden, also known as “The World’s Most Famous Arena,” is a legendary sports and entertainment venue located in the heart of Manhattan, New York City. Opened in 1968, the stadium has become synonymous with some of the greatest moments in sports and entertainment history, hosting everything from iconic boxing matches to legendary music concerts and many WWE flagship events.

Originally located at 8th Avenue between 49th and 50th Streets, Madison Square Garden has been rebuilt and relocated several times throughout its history. The current venue, located atop Penn Station, opened in 1968 and has since become one of the world’s most iconic sports and entertainment venues.

In addition, Madison Square Garden has been the home of some of the most memorable moments in WWE history, including WrestleMania I, which took place at the venue in 1985.

Not just Wrestlemania but also Survivor Series 1996 took place at MSG, marking the debut of people’s champ, The Rock. MSG is host to Wrestlemania XX, where The Undertaker made his return in his legendary Deadman character and defeated his kayfabe brother Kane.

In 2000, WWE conducted one of their flagship events Royal Rumble in Madison Square Garden. However, Rock made the event memorable again by winning the main event and getting a guaranteed championship match at Wrestlemania. Interestingly, Rock lost the match to then-champion Triple H at Wrestlemania 2000.
